The cast of Thamma features Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal, and Faisal Malik in the lead, along with cameos by Sathyaraj and Varun Dhawan. This movie is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, known for delivering the successful Munjya in the same universe.

Ever since its announcement, Thamma has been marketed as a violent love story in this horror-comedy universe. As this universe is popular for having chartbuster songs in all its movies, the Rahein Na Rahein Hum song in its announcement, along with the plot revolving around vampires and Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the antagonist, generated a good hype. However, with time, the hype could not be maintained successfully.
