The Story Begins! 

The story revolves around a coincidental misunderstanding in Mumbai’s well-known dabbawala lunch delivery service. A young housewife named Ila, played by The Lunchbox actor name Nimrat Kaur. She makes a special meal for her husband in an attempt to win him back. But because of a rare mistake, the lunchbox ends up in the hands of Saajan Fernandes, played by Irrfan Khan, who is a lonely widower who is about to retire. Saajan, intrigued by the gastronomic treat, writes Ila a message, which starts a correspondence that develops into a close relationship. Both people reassess their life as a result of confronting their loneliness, dreams, and regrets through these private letters.
