Rehaan Mehra, aka Ray (Kartik Aaryan), is the son of eminent wedding planner Pinky (Neena Gupta), based in the USA. When he goes on a vacation to Croatia, he meets Rumi Vardhan (Ananya Panday), an Agra-based writer who resides in her ancestral home with her sister Jia (Chandni Bhabhda) and father, Colonel Amar Wardhan Singh (Jackie Shroff). 

Initially, Ray and Rumi detest each other, but they soon fall in love, so much so that Ray even dreams of marrying Rumi. However, Rumi’s sister Jia soon marries Sukhi (Mohit Nehra) and is going to settle with him in Canada. At the same time, Amar is aging with no one behind Rumi to take care of him, especially if Rumi moves to the USA with Ray. Due to this, Rumi breaks up with Ray. Later, things continue spiraling between the two with drama and emotions.
