A few weeks ago, Toxic was easily one of the most anticipated Indian movies of the year. For a heavy budget commercial entertainer like this, the assets should work to raise expectations. However, with the release of the first song from Toxic, Tabaahi, it can be said that the assets are only harming the Yash starrer’s hype, bringing it down instead of elevating it. Sung and composed by Vishal Mishra and lyrics by Raj Shekhar, read our Tabaahi song review to know how the song has turned out.
Is the Tabaahi Song from Toxic Good?
Firstly, the Toxic new song Tabaahi boasts of nothing unique and is similar to the ton of rage-filled love or heartbreak songs that are produced in Bollywood every year. The best example of such songs is Bekhayali or Kaisa Hua from Kabir Singh, the latter composed and sung by Vishal Mishra. The Tabaahi song singer and composer is Vishal Mishra, too.
The composition of the songs, whether it be the vocalist screaming or the instruments being used, is way too similar to ignore. While the two references turned out to be memorable chartbusters, the Tabaahi song sung by Vishal Mishra is a below-average song that generated huge hype, but its release eliminated that hype.
What adds to its underwhelmingness is that its box office competitor, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is bound to have a chartbuster music album, as indicated by the chartbuster album of Part 1. When you are facing a rival that will build its hype on music, a poor music album only puts you on a lower level of expectations.

The Audio Release Blunder
The makers of Kiara Advani new film, Toxic, made a major mishap by releasing only the audio version of the Tabaahi Tabaahi songs from Toxic, not a video. The audio has had a negative impact on the excitement for Toxic, which could have been partially nullified by the video featuring Yash and Kiara Advani together as a romantic pairing for the first time, especially after the positive response to the two Tabaahi song posters featuring both.
In case of a Tabaahi song out now video release, the song would have still been poor to listen to, but the screen presence of Yash and his pairing with Kiara Advani, a very intimate one, would have been great to watch. Additionally, the Yash Kiara first look from Tabaahi posters together led fans to think she would play a blind girl in the movie, and watching the video would have only helped the film bank on that particular rumour, along with providing fans a certain answer to the same.
However, this rumour would be extinguished later on, whenever the Yash new movie song video releases, as hinted by Kiara Advani in her Instagram story.
How is the Hype of Toxic Right Now?
The hype for Toxic was at an all-time high when the character introduction teaser of Yash as Raya was released. Later, when the Toxic teaser was released, the hype quickly faded as the asset proved underwhelming. However, the mistakes in the teaser were ignored over time, as it introduced Yash in dual roles as Raya and Ticket.
Now, the Tabaahi song featuring by Yash has taken the hype down further. Firstly, the team made a blunder by releasing it in audio rather than video. Further, the audio wasn’t anything special.
The Toxic team needs to understand the seriousness of the clash they face with Dhurandhar 2, as assets like Tabaahi and the teaser cannot help the film meet box-office expectations. To actually stand a chance in the Toxic vs Dhurandhar The Revenge clash at this moment, the Geetu Mohandas directorial needs to get a great reception for its future songs as well as for the Toxic trailer.
What to Expect from the Toxic Music Album?
As of now, the future of the Toxic song album is not looking good, since Vishal Mishra is the lead composer, with four songs in the film, and the first one, as seen in the the Tabaahi song release date, has turned out to be underwhelming. Additionally, Vishal Mishra does not have a good track record of delivering chartbusters or memorable songs as the leading composer of a movie.
The other guest composers in the Toxic music album include Ravi Basrur, Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah, and Arslan Nizami. One can depend highly on Ravi Basrur among them all after listening to the BGM composed by him in Toxic Birthday Peek and Toxic Title Announcement.
Our Final Thoughts
As of our final thoughts in the Toxic Tabaahi song review, this song, which was expected to be extraordinary by the fans, has turned out to be worse than ordinary, further degrading the hype for this action entertainer. Additionally, Toxic needs to enhance its pre-release reputation, which can only come from better songs and a great trailer in the future.
