The much-anticipated movie Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups, starring Yash in a double role, Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in pivotal roles, was set to release on Eid-ul-Fitr this year, on March 19, 2026. While fans were eagerly waiting to watch the movie in theaters on this occasion, the Toxic movie postponed to June 4, 2026, has increased their wait.

Why is the Toxic Movie Postponed?

The movie was initially planned to be released on April 10, 2025. However, due to the movie still being in the developmental stage back then, the release was pushed to be a big release for Eid this year on March 19, 2026.
However, in an official statement, it has now been announced that the movie shall now be released on June 4, 2026. This new Toxic movie release date is a result of the rising tension and war-like situations arising in the Middle East.
The producers, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, along with the rest of the team, have confirmed the war-like situation in the Middle East as the key reason for the postponement, given that the Middle East is a pivotal overseas market for the Toxic film release.
However, Inside Box office also would like to take into notice that while the war might be the cited reason, the real reason might be the underwhelming response the movie was receiving in its advanced booking stage, as compared to the movie it was set to clash with on EidDhurandar: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh
The Yash new movie Toxic 2026 was facing a worse response than Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 at the overseas box office, which was clearly seen in the ticket sales for the two films during their advance booking at overseas territories like the USA & Canada, which had started recently.
Additionally, the hype for Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups was touching consistent lows after an underwhelming Toxic teaser release and an even worse song release in the form of Toxic song Tabaahi.

The Possible Impact of Postponement on Toxic

As mentioned above, the movie was on its way to clash with the sequel to the blockbuster movie of 2025, Dhurandhar. The hype for Dhurandhar took the world by a storm back in December 2025, making its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge a much more anticipated release.
While a grand trailer release was planned on March 8 in Bengaluru, followed by a grand release for the movie on Eid, it might not have been the right to release the Toxic movie with the big Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar, as has been evident by the underwhelming response to the former’s advance booking in USA, Canada and some other overseas territories.
The postponement comes with a legit reason of escalating tensions in the Middle East, but as per the reports being read by Inside Box Office, this might just be what the movie needs to be seen as a blockbuster in its own glory.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge Will be Postponed Too?

While the Toxic release date being postponed to avoid clashing with Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge surprised the fans, the latest rumour in the industry says that the latter might get postponed too.
Due to the mood and subject of the film, there are rumours that Dhurandhar: The Revenge release date will shift much ahead of Toxic and target a release on August 14th, 2026. However, a postponement does not harm Dhurandhar Part 2 as the film is riding on such a massive hype, which will guarantee its blockbuster results at the box office. Additionally, the assurance of its success is coming from Inside Box Office without even the trailer release of the film.
