8. King
Ending Shah Rukh Khan’s hiatus after three back-to-back big box office grossers is the raw action thriller King. The King movie star cast consists of Shah Rukh Khan along with his daughter Suhana Khan making her theatrical debut. King is made on a budget of Rs 200 crore approx.
This movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, Abhay Verma, Rani Mukerji, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, and Raghav Juyal in the lead. As the shooting schedule for King has begun very recently, we do not expect the film to release any time before 2026. Yet, the names attached to the film makes it one of the most exciting movies of India.
7. Ramayana
Anything related to our mythology or history instantly becomes the most awaited movie of the future especially when it is made on a mammoth budget with a talented cast and crew. Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana is one such movie. Directed by Dangal and Chhichhore director Nitesh Tiwari, the film would star Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Kunal Kapoor, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, and Sheeba Chaddha in the lead.
It is planned as the most expensive movie ever made in India with a budget of around Rs 835 crore, making it one of the most popular high budget movies of all time. Ramayana: Part 1 and Part 2 would release in theaters on Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 respectively.
6. SSMB29
After helming the globally acclaimed and Oscar winner RRR, S.S. Rajamouli is expected to make one of the best movies to watch in his collaboration with superstar Mahesh Babu. Tentatively referred to as SSMB29, this film is going to be an action adventure entertainer. It will also star Priyanka Chopra as the female lead along with Prithviraj Sukumaran as the leading antagonist. The film will be made at a budget of approx Rs 1000 crore, making it the most expensive film in the history of Indian cinema during its release.
5. Salaar 2
Rebel star Prabhas made his successful comeback in 2023 with Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire. As the Prashanth Neel directorial set fire to the Box Office Report, the dinosaur-level sequel is expected to be an even bigger hit. Also starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Salaar 2 is one of the most awaited upcoming movies in India, more specifically among the mass entertainers. Till now, the film has made a great legacy of itself which is clearly seen in its trending among Top 10 Hindi movies on Jio Hotstar for nearly 470 days and counting i.e. ever since it has been released on OTT. As per various reports, Salaar 2 would be made at a budget of Rs 340 crore approx.
