Her father Prakash Padukone is a world-class badminton player, while her mother Ujjala Padukone is a travel agent. Deepika completed her schooling at Sophia High School, Bangalore and later pursued a BA in Sociology from Mount Carmel College.
Like her father, she was trained professionally in badminton and even played at the national level before shifting her focus to modeling. She started her career with print and television advertisements and gradually transitioned into films.
Her acting debut came with the Kannada film “Aishwarya” (2006), followed by her Bollywood debut “Om Shanti Om” (2007) opposite Shah Rukh Khan, which became a massive blockbuster.
