Prabhas’ The Raja Saab vs Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar | Who is winning the box office?

Ranveer Singh last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani is finally back with a 2025 release in the form of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. Dhurandhar Movie is expected to be Ranveer Singh comeback film after a not so lucrative period at the box office propelled by duds like Cirkus, Jayeshbhai Jordaar etc. The actor had made a cameo appearance in 2024 in Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again where he was outstanding with his comic timing.

With the Dhurandhar teaser release, the Dhurandhar release date is announced as 5th December 2025. The film is arriving on the same date as The Raja Saab which is a horror comedy film directed by Telugu director Maruthi starring Prabhas and Sanjay Dutt featuring other actors too.

Ranveer Singh Dhurandhar First Look Review by Inside Box Office (IBO)

The First Look is more of a Teaser which features a set of talented actors like Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan and Ranveer Singh himself. The actors look promising but the setting isn’t authentic. Dhurandhar 2025 is reportedly based on a True story and the Hanumankind Music used in the Teaser some-what takes away the essense and the seriousness of the subject. However, Ranveer Singh wearing the Khilji look back again is exciting. A nice look must go with a well-written character and that can be answered when the film releases.

Post Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, there has been an attempt to cut similar Trailers and Teasers but not everyone is Sandeep Reddy Vanga who clearly has the formula to crack the market and tap the youth. The Teaser has a few stunning shots while in entirety is very ordinary and has a D-Day vibe to it.

The Raja Saab Teaser vs Dhurandhar First Look

The Raja Saab Teaser was too basic and had Telugu entertainer flavour while Dhurandhar does have basic flavours that work in the Hindi market. The Raja Saab must alter things in the film to suite the Hindi market which matters the most when it comes to delivering a big grosser. Apart from Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani, the Hindi audience is not very familiar with the cast of The Raja Saab. These things matter as for the comedy to work, known faces in the ensemble can do wonders.

The Hindi Audience enjoys Horror Comedy and the Biggest Bollywood Grosser in Domestic Markets currently is Stree 2 which shows how big the potential is when it’s about this genre. But here the first part enjoyed massive viewership through satellite and OTT which led a strong foundation for the second part.

Teaser wise, both are ordinary with The Raja Saab offering more clarity of being a family entertainer.

The Box Office Potential for Dhurandhar and The Raja Saab

Prabhas is currently seen as one of India’s Biggest superstars and a film like The Raja Saab shouldn’t be in his lineup but that cannot be changed now.

Prabhas has a huge fan base pan India and guarantees a minimum business at the box office and recovery wise too but here the content is not something that will be able to portray his stardom. The only plus is that because this genre is loved by the Hindi audience and will have support from family audience. When a family audience supports a film, then even smaller initials lead to big totals.

On the other hand, it is just the Dhurandhar First Look out but it says a lot as to how family audiences are going to perceive it.

Having said that, the opening for The Raja Saab is set to he monumental due to the presence of the Prabhas factor while Dhurandhar has to put a big total as the opening in Hindi market is usually not that big. But, The Raja Saab needs something more to fare well in the Hindi markets.
