High-Octane TV Serial that borrows from KGF, Animal etc | Baaghi 4 Review

Baaghi 4 marks the return of Tiger Shroff on the big screens post box office debacles like Ganpath and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He was last seen in Singham Again but that was more like an extended cameo appearance. Since Baaghi 4 release date was announced using the Baaghi 4 poster, the film saw some enquiries which was a positive sign. But later, Baaghi 4 Teaser reduced the film’s hype as it was clearly based on the ideas used in Animal and Marco. This issue is not limited to Baaghi 4 film but extends to all action films. Baahubali, KGF, Animal are mega-hits for their own reasons and young filmmakers nowadays try to emulate the style in order to deliver huge numbers at the box office but they forget that the soul of these films cannot be imitated. Baaghi 4 trailer was decent but it was too late to recollect all the lost hype and buzz.          

What works in Baaghi 4 ?

Baaghi 4 has an impressive first half and among Baaghi 4 cast, Tiger Shroff emerges as the best one with clear improvement in his acting skills. The outburst, the confusion, the vulnerability, Tiger is fabulous in showcasing all of it. The writing of the film is also engaging and the audience keeps wondering as to what’s next. Baaghi 4 movie has a gripping first half, some impressive songs while there are stunning frames spread across. The humour works well as the film is too serious. The film delivers entertainment in chunks. Shreyas Talpade is fine in whatever little role he has; Upendra Limaye and Saurabh Sachdeva are playing themselves as they are in every other film. The dialogues are good but could have been better.

What doesn’t work in Baaghi 4 Movie?

Baaghi 4 lacks novelty and innovation. Baaghi 4 full movie may have a long list of flaws but more than highlighting the demerits its about highlight what could’ve been better. Cast of Baaghi 4 disappoints. Full marks to Harnaaz Sandhu and Sanjay Dutt as they disappoint hugely. While Sanjay Dutt’s presence decreases interest in the film, it is not about his acting but about the way his character has been written. The second half of the film is a massive disappointment and a major credit goes to the character of Sanjay Dutt. The unconvincing portions are loaded in the second half. Poor backstory and an extremely lose backdrop do not make the brutal action convincing. It is cool to copy Animal or KGF but the emotions behind it make those film mega grossers and this one will end up as a FLOP due to huge costs involved. The music is good but there are too many songs that are placed here and there. Even the serious tone gets diluted due to too many songs and the misplacement.
