OMG: Oh My God! Movie Cast: Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, Om Puri, Govind Namdev, Lubna Salim, Poonam Jhawer
Synopsis: OMG—Oh My God! is a humorous and provocative Bollywood film that parodies organized religion’s business practices, blind faith, and the commercial aspects of spirituality. The protagonist of the story is Kanji Lalji Mehta (Paresh Rawal), an atheist who runs an antique store. His insurance claim is denied after an earthquake destroys his shop because it was deemed to be an “act of God.” Kanji responds by taking the extraordinary step of suing God, which causes a great deal of social and cultural unrest.
A modern-day Krishna, a motorcycle-riding deity played by Akshay Kumar, serves as Kanji’s mentor as he works through the difficulties of legal proceedings, public censure, and his own developing spirituality. The movie skillfully combines humor and intense emotion, bravery and sensitivity.

OMG—Oh My God! Review: Bold, Brave, and Brilliant

OMG—Oh My God! 2012 doesn’t play it safe—the movie is an excellent one that questions all the practices which the Indian society considers to be untouchable. Paresh Rawal has come as a versatile actor—sarcastic, vulnerable, and razor-sharp, a complete package! Akshay Kumar, in a restrained yet magnetic role, brings gravitas and charm as the divine intervener.
It is one of those very few films in the history of Indian cinema that is a beautiful blend of entertainment and meaningful commentary. With its taut screenplay, the director has created magic. What’s more? The powerful dialogues (Sacha dharm woh hai jisme kisi ki bhavna ko thes na pahunche) make the movie an unforgettable one!
