Cinematographer Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti bathes the show in amber and shadow, while Amit Trivedi’s songs and Ketan Sodha’s score give it a propulsive, melancholy pulse.

However, the show slightly falters in episodes four and five, where the momentum suddenly sags a little. Subplots around Minister Bapat feel rushed. But the writing recovers for a final stretch that delivers a full-circle emotional payoff worth waiting for.
